Service Technician
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Residential HVAC Service Technician to join our team and deliver exceptional heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) services to our valued clients. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of residential HVAC systems, ensuring optimal comfort and energy efficiency for homeowners. Your expertise will help improve indoor air quality, troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and provide top-tier customer service. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on residential HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and ventilation equipment.
- Install new HVAC equipment following manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as filter replacements, system inspections, and tune-ups to maximize efficiency and lifespan.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, HVAC design plans, and technical manuals to accurately troubleshoot issues.
- Utilize specialized tools such as ohmmeters, refrigerant gauges, welding equipment, and other mechanical instruments to repair or replace faulty components.
- Identify opportunities for property maintenance improvements related to HVAC systems and recommend solutions to clients.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and documentation of repairs performed for each client visit.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC or related fields such as construction, plumbing, refrigeration, or property maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and understand HVAC design principles.
- Experience with field service operations involving appliance repair, equipment troubleshooting, and system installation.
- Familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems (HVAC/R), boiler operation, welding techniques, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools including ohmmeters and other electrical testing devices confidently.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
- Knowledge of HVAC/R codes and safety standards; experience with property maintenance is advantageous.
